Max Thieriot joins Wes Craven's 25/8

He’s replacing Henry Lee Hopper…

And it was all going so well for Dennis Hopper’s son Henry Lee: he’d managed to avoid charges of nepotism in getting his first movie role, and he was launching his career with Wes Craven at the helm.

No more. Thanks to catching a bout of mononucleosis (AKA mono or, in slang terms “the kissing disease”), Hopper has had to give up his leading role, as Craven can’t delay shooting with the threat of an actors’ strike looming.

His part will be taken up by Max Thieriot, last seen as the younger version of Hayden Christensen’s David in Jumper. He’ll play one of a group of teens hunted by a killer who died the day they were born.

The Hollywood Reporter is checking the story for germs.
