Mel Gibson set to shoot in Mexico

New period project lined up

Mel Gibson will be returning to Veracruz, Mexico, to shoot his new movie.

Gibbo shot some of Apocalypto there, and will be using part of the Ignacio Allende prison.

Rumours abound that the subject of the film could be Ignacio Allende himself (a Spanish Army captain who sympathized with the Mexican independence movement) or 'Chucho el Roto' (a Mexican Robin Hood figure).

Both suggested topics sound interesting, and could fit well with Gibson's filmmaking style.

We'll be keen to see what he follows Apocalypto with.

I love his films, and his acting! As long as he sticks to one part at a time. I'd prefer the Ignacio Allende-story.

love him or hate him, as a director he continually picks challenging & interesting subject matter. Top marks for not "doing a Harrison" & pursuing Mad Max 4 or Lethal Weapon 5.
