Michael Fassbender stars in first trailer for Frank: watch now

“What goes on in the head in the head?”

The first trailer has arrived online for Lenny Abrahamson’s offbeat comedy, Frank, in which Michael Fassbender stars as an enigmatic musician who never removes his oversized model head.

Loosely based upon the story of Frank Sidebottom, the new film looks genuinely hilarious, with Fassbender helping his bemused bandmates understand how he’s feeling by describing his facial expressions out loud.

Newest member Domhnall Gleeson is the most perplexed by proceedings, but eve he has to admit that the man in the mask is hugely charismatic, even if we can’t see what he looks like.

We don’t know about you, but we’re going to have Frank’s “most likeable song ever” stuck in our heads for the rest of the day! Marvellous stuff.

Directed by Abrahamson and co-starring Maggie Gyllenhaal and Scoot McNairy, Frank will open in the UK on 2 May 2014.
