The first trailer has arrived online for Birdman, Alejandro González Iñárritu's black comedy in which Michael Keaton stars as a washed-up actor famed for once playing an iconic superhero.
With his career having stalled, Keaton's character attempts to reignite things by staging his own Broadway play, only to find himself hamstrung by family issues and his own monstrous ego.
The first trailer doesn't give too much away in terms of plot specifics, but gives a good sense of the offbeat tone, and what looks like a pretty mesmerising performance by Keaton.

Any trailer that can work in a fistfight between Keaton and an underpant-clad Edward Norton is a fine thing in our book. Consider us officially intrigued…
Co-starring Emma Stone, Naomi Watts, Zach Galifianakis, Amy Ryan and Andrea Riseborough, Birdman will open in the UK on 2 January 2015.
