Guardians Of The Galaxy might still be the best part of a year away from hitting our screens, but supporting player Michael Rooker is already looking forward to its potential sequels.
Rooker, who plays blue-skinned alien badass Yondu, has been talking to SuperHeroHype about the film, and has revealed that he’s been reading ahead to find out as much about his character as possible.
“When I first got the role of Yondu, [James] Gunn was like, ‘Don’t read any of the comics!’” says Rooker, “but it’s beautiful stuff."
“Whenever you do a film of comic-book characters and stuff, you don’t know how much you can show, you don’t know how much is going to be brought out. Nowadays movies are done and they already have two or three others planned out.”
“So stuff you do in this one,” continues Rooker, “you ask ‘Why aren’t we doing this?’ and they say, ‘Well be patient!’”
Sounds like the Guardians could be around for a few sequels to come, then. Directed by Gunn, Guardians Of The Galaxy will open in the UK on 1 August 2014.
