Michael Sheen joins New Moon

He’ll play one of the Volturi

Michael Sheen has been added to the cast of Twilight sequel New Moon.

Switching allegiances from his usual supernatural style – he’s played a werewolf in three Underworld movies to date – he’ll appear as Aro, the leader of the Volturi, the ancient, evil clan of Italian vampires.

He’ll bring a little class to the film, which finds Bella (Kristen Stewart) and Edward (Robert Pattinson) struggling against new enemies while finding out more about the werewolves, led by Jacob Black (Tyler Lautner).

Director Chris Weitz is kicking off directing the movie now, heading full speed to a 20th November US release date.

      Brilliant! Hopefully he'll make the whole idea of the Volturi a little less pathetic.
