Mickey Rourke talks Iron Man

“I’m doing half my role in Russian…”

Now that he’s throwing himself into the role of the main Iron Man 2 villain, Mickey Rourke seems only too happy to talk about it.

Well, at last he’ll talk about it without giving too much away, which is likely what his bosses at Marvel would prefer…

"I decided to do half my role in Russian," he tells The Guardian, "and that's hard because the Russian language doesn't roll off the English-speaking tongue very easily.”

“I spent three hours a day with a teacher, and after two weeks I know four sentences! Let me see, it's sort of like... 'Yezzamee menya... Yezzamee manya obott... Er, nemaboootty menya...'”

And that all means? “If someone kills me, don't wake me up, because I'd rather be dead than live in your world." Charming…

In related, more spoilery Iron Man news, producer Kevin Feige talked about the movie at a conference over the weekend and revealed that Scarlett Johansson’s character – better known as slinky female spy Black Widow – will first be seen undercover as an assistant to Tony Stark who later reveals her true colours. Looking forward to that take on the plot line…
