Monsters University releases a full-length trailer: watch now

Plus, Helen Mirren joins the cast

The full-length trailer for Monsters University has arrived, and you can watch it right here.

Pitching Mike Wazowski and James P. ‘Sulley’ Sullivan as odd-couple roommates ‘before they were incorporated’, it’s clear that the pair didn’t always get on.

In fact, it seems they were quite the rivals, with Sulley the dominant force when it comes to frights. As if college wasn’t enough of a minefield already...

Get watching the wonderful new trailer below, which brings the plot into focus (and introduces a whole host of oddly-bodied beasties):

And, the prequel has scored another high-profile addition to the cast in the form of Helen Mirren, who plays Dean Hardscrabble. And she looks suitably imposing, as you can see from the new batch of images below.

Mirren said of the role, “As a great fan of all things Pixar, I was honoured and exhilarated to be asked to appear in Monsters University. What a liberation! As an actor, you have two important tools to your trade: your voice and your body. It has been easy over the years to find good roles for my voice, but it has not been so easy to squash my many legs and my wings into the various costumes I have been forced to uncomfortably wear, disguising my true form. Finally I can make good use of both voice and body in a role that seems tailor-made for me - one could say monster-made. At last, the audience can experience the real Helen Mirren. Thank you Disney•Pixar and [director] Dan Scanlon.”

Yeah but Monsters Inc was one of the few PIXAR movies that deserved a sequel, more so than Cars. The Incredibles 2 next please!

Brilliant, Pixar just keep getting better. And I never knew Helen Mirren was so funny, I love that woman.

Wait, Mike wants to be a scarer? That's going to be the most depressing ending ever.
