Spring Breakers, the teen heist movie from director Harmony Korine, has hit upon a pretty solid way of marketing itself, chiefly by releasing as many bikini-clad images of its sexy young cast as possible.
The film stars Vanessa Hudgens, Selena Gomez, Ashley Benson and Rachel Korine as a quartet of college girls who plan to rob a fast food restaurant in order to pay for their spring break. Naturally, their hair-brained scheme soon goes to the dogs, and they all end up feeling the firm hand of the law.
Happily, help is at hand from James Franco’s sinister drug dealer, who bails the girls out of lock-up in exchange for a single tiny favour... he wants them to kill his arch-rival. No biggie, right?
Franco himself can be seen in profile in one of the images here, sporting a truly woeful set of cornrows and generally acting the big man. It’s his young co-stars however, who are clearly designed to draw the eye. Clever, it ain’t, but it’s certainly effective.
Spring Breakers is expected to arrive in 2013, with a release date still to be confirmed. In the meantime, you can check out the new images below...

Rest assured, if the main marketing ploy is the characters in bikinis then the movie will be shash. Vanessa Hudgens with blonde hair just looks wrong.

I wonder how much Korine himself is behind the marketing. He seems to like to alienate the audience and make them feel slightly ashamed of themselves, so I can't help but feel he had that in mind when casting the chiefly Disney actors in these roles... You know this is going to be strange though.

not even the sight of the lovely selena gomez & vanessa hudgens in bikinis is enough to get me to see this.. sounds terrible, james franco must have owed someone big time to star in it
