Star Trek fans rejoice – some more on-set image from J.J. Abrams' forthcoming sequel have leaked online following the two previewed by MTV this weekend.
The additional shots are taken from the same sequence in which Benedict Cumberbatch’s villain finds himself in a scrap with Spock and Uhura. However, this time around, it looks like Cumberbatch gets to throw a few shots of his own.
Cumberbatch can be seen grabbing Spock by the throat, although it would appear that the Starfleet duo regain the upper hand when Uhura brings her Phaser into the equation.
As yet, we’ve still no details as to the identity of Cumberbatch’s antagonist, although as we noted previously, he does appear to be wearing some kind of Starfleet uniform. Perhaps more significantly, he appears to be playing neither Khan nor a Klingon.
Star Trek 2 opens in the UK at some point in 2013, with an official release date yet to be confirmed. Hopefully we’ll know just who the crew of the Enterprise will be facing off against sooner rather than later…
What do you make of the new snaps, and who do you think Cumberbatch will be playing? Tell us, below.
