Morgan Freeman may join Red

He's in talks for the Bruce Willis thriller

Morgan Freeman is looking to get back into the thriller business, and he's in talks to co-star in Red with Bruce Willis.

The movie, which is being bankrolled by Twilight studio Summit Entertainment, is based on the DC comic.

Originally created by Warren Ellis and Cully Hamner, Red finds a former tough-as-nails black-ops CIA bod trying to live a quietly retired live.

But since scenes of him quietly fishing or doing the New York Times crossword wouldn't exactly qualify this as a "thriller", his relaxed world is shattered when a high-tech assassin targets him.

There's no word on a director yet, but writing partners/brothers Jon and Erich Hoeber are at work on a script.
