Neve Campbell back for Scream 4?

The new film might also get Wes Craven

While it’s still early days, things are moving apace on Scream 4.

The most exciting news, as reported by the lads of Bloody Disgusting, is that original writer Kevin Williamson and director Wes Craven are circling the project.

Williamson will apparently pen a draft of the new movie, which will see a younger, newer cast of characters dealing with the genre-reference laden horror.

Craven as director?

Plus, while he’ll likely executive produce, Wes Craven is rumoured to be considering slipping into the director’s chair once more.

Finally, there’s word that Neve Campbell, David Arquette and Courtney Cox Arquette have all been offered cash to make cameos in the new pic.

Question: Do you want a new Scream? Or should it be allowed to rest in peace?

Not another one. Does Hollywood have an original thought in it's head anymore?

Neither Craven nor Williamson fill me with any kind of confidence. Williamson was a flash in the pan and Craven's last three films were Red Eye, Cursed and Scream 3. Chalk this one up as a suckfest.

If williamson and craven are inviolved i think that would work; remember the original work they dead on scream? Fantastic, yes the sequel wasn't as good and 3 sucked but Williamson was told to knock out the scream 2 scipt in record time and still did a good job. As long as Michael Bay and his bad remake junkies don't get their hands on it, I'll give it a go.
