New banner poster for Resident Evil: Retribution

Alice in wasteland

Resident Evil: Retribution has released a new banner poster featuring Milla Jovovich's Alice brandishing a pair of weapons against a distinctly apocalyptic backdrop.

Standing upon what appears to be a frozen sea, complete with frozen naval vessels bearing the Umbrella logo, Alice is dwarfed by the tagline, "Alice in Wasteland". It sounds a bit like Alice in Wonderland, you see? Well it doesn't really, but you get the idea they're going for.

The new film begins with Alice awakening within the bowels of one of Umbrella's operations facilities, battling her way out, and discovering that the outside world is on the brink of oblivion thanks to a widespread outbreak of the T-virus.

With nowhere safe to hole up in, our heroine must embark upon a globe-trotting quest to find those responsible for the pandemic, a journey that will take her from Tokyo to Moscow, via New York and DC.

Directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and co-starring Michelle Rodriguez, Sienna Guillory, Oded Fehr, Kevin Durand, Boris Kodjoe, Shawn Roberts, Colin Salmon, Johann Urb and Li Bingbing, Resident Evil: Retribution will open in the UK on 28 September 2012. Let the OTT explodiness begin!

@Heisenberg yeah i was a bit nervous about mentioning his name too. Surely he would have been first to comment on this article though? It feels weird. Posting a comment without fear of being verbally attacked by the resident bigotry-ogre feels unusual.

Guys, I too was quietly hoping he'd gone. However, the last paragraph from "George Wales" reels off far too many supporing actors to care about and scarily echoes something Dalidab would do. Has he somehow been assimiliated by Total Film, Brundle-Fly stylee?

Maybe he is our Agent Smith, he can manipulate the matrix, and no matter how hard we try, we cannot get away from him.

Its only after I clicked on the poster to see it in hi res, that I realised how c**p a pic it is. Oh and the "Alics in wasteland" bit is prob the most interesting. Should have left the logos off some of the vessels, its looks tacky and rather s**te! XMX

Let's hope this is the end of a s**t series by W.S.Anderson and the beginning of a new one, preferably with someone who won't ruin this franchise any further.. I'm pretty sure capcom would want to milk some more money from resi through more films or even a TV series. The story is there and a more accurate telling would really make up for the mess W.S.Anderson has created.

I really thought the "Alice in wasteland" sub heading was just a silly little joke by Total Film, but no, a banner tagline for a worldwide film release. Also, the zombies never really stood a chance against Alice, what with all her super power high flying kickery. But now she can walk on water they are totally f****d! SHUFFLE AWAY PUNY ZOMBIES, SHUFFLE AWAY!!

@Murphy0806 I am now curious to see how Paul W.S. Anderson would adapt the Bible... Would Milla Jovovich play Jesus, do ya think?
