The Amazing Spider-Man has released a new clip online, in which Peter Parker shows off his new Spidey skills by making a fool out of basketball jock Flash Thompson.
The new clip plays up Andrew Garfield’s cocky new take on the character by having him taunt, tease and then thoroughly humiliate his opponent on the basketball court, before taking this just a little too far.
It’s a great little scene, and shows a sense of humour that promises to be the film’s trump card in a summer already crammed with explosive super-hero action.
Take a look at the new clip, below...
Our favourite clips from the film so far have been the ones in which Garfield is allowed free rein to play around with Parker’s smart-alecky side, his gleeful foiling of a car thief being a prime case in point. Tobey Maguire’s version was pretty light on laughter, and this is where Garfield can really stake a claim to making the character his own.
The Amazing Spider-Man opens in the UK on 3 July 2012, when Parker will find himself up against a foe slightly more intimidating than poor Flash...

Think Garfield looks amazing as Peter Parker, can't wait for this, think it will be quite the surprise and feel very sorry for those that will walk in to this film with hate already in their minds
