Marvel Phase 2 Footage & Concept Art Blowout

Thor 2, Ant Man, Captain America 2 & more

Marvel has released a new batch of concept art and footage, with some new shots of both Guardians Of The Galaxy and Captain America: The Winter Soldier arriving online.

The new Cap image shows Steve Rogers going toe to toe with a resurrected Bucky Barnes, while the Guardians shots focus on some eyecatching futurescapes which should provide the backdrop for the intergalactic action.

Meanwhile, there's also a brand new preview video for Phase 2 as a whole, which teases exciting new footage and art from Iron Man 3, Thor: The Dark World, Guardians of the Galaxy, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and even gives us our first official glimpse at Edgar Wright's Ant Man - and how they all lead into the next era of Marvel movies...

Take a look below…

While the Iron Man footage is lots of things we've seen before, that super-fast snapshot of concept art, and Thor footage is definitely new -  and it's interesting to hear Kevin Feige explain the process of transition, with the next phase of storytelling looking as meticulously planned out as the first one was.

It all kicks off with Iron Man 3, with Phase 2's opening salvo arriving in the UK on 3 May 2013. Take a look at the rest of the concept art - including some amazing looking Guardians of the Galaxy art, followed by our first peeks at The Winter Soldier and classic Cap ally Falcon, below...

All the imagery and video could be accessed by clever fans who followed the clues and codes hidden in their Marvel Cinematic Universe: Phase One – Avengers Assembled Blu-ray box set.

What do you think of the new material? Tell us, below!

Still *VERY* unsure about Guardians of the Galaxy... It sounds absurd, but I don't want anything ruining this thing I've come to enjoy so much. Let's not start making silly films now just for the sake of making them / money. If it's good, then that's fine, but if it's bad, I hope it doesn't have to tie in to the other movies, and you can take it or leave it.

I've said it before and i'll say it again; regardless of what you think about the films, you cannot fault Marvel's ambition with this whole project, especially considering that one flop could affect all of their franchises. I think they've handled it really well and am looking forward to seeing what they do next. I just hope that they can start to tie in some of their other properties if they can reach agreements with the likes of 20th Century Fox and Sony, or at least start to introduce some others into the Universe, as they're doing with Ant-Man. I don't think they necassarily have to have all new characters appear in an Avengers film, but just having references to them all being in the same universe will work perfectly.

There's a reason for that, Rhodey was overseas using the War Machine armour for the US Government. Check out the two issue limited series IRON MAN 3 PRELUDE (out now Marvel fans!) it shows what Rhodey was up to during the battle of New York ... which, if you remember happened out of nowhere and ended very quickly - within the same day - so it would have been tough for Rhodey to deal with the entanglements he had and then get back Stateside to do any good ... he might have got back just in time for Schwarma though :)
