New Dark Knight Rises viral arrives online

Check out John Blake's performance review

The Dark Knight Rises continues to release a handful of cool viral tidbits, with the latest being a performance review from the Gotham Police Department for Officer John Blake (Joseph Gordon-Levitt).

The report is generally glowing, with Blake clearly a rising star in the department. "Officer Blake shows great dedication and tenacity," reports his assessor. "He made an impact in his assigned beat by building effective associations within the local community."

However, his one "failing" appears to be his difficulty in getting on with other officers in the department. Given the history of corruption in the GPD, we'd say that's no bad thing, but the report suggests he, "needs minor improvement in his relationships with fellow officers."

"His thoroughness tends to make him judgemental of colleagues' performances," continues the report, "and leads him to question authority." In which case, we're sure he and Batman will get along just fine…

We're still not too sure just how significant a role Blake will play as yet, whether he's simply Batman's man on the inside or (whisper it) a possible replacement? In any case, all will become clear when the film opens in the UK on 20 July 2012. In the meantime, you can check out the report in full, below...

@EddieFelson Don't be too quick to dismiss it. It might not make sense in a standalone context, but when the film's out, I'm sure it'll make sense.

I'd guess his character is going to have a major part to play - surely Gordon is Batman's 'inside man'. Couple of other points - 'John Blake' sounds similar to 'Tim Drake', the 3rd Robin in the comics. In the comics, Dick Grayson becomes Nightwing and has a day job as a city-cop. I reckon that JGL's character is not going to replace Batman, but either be a catalyst to have Bats take up the cowel again (seeing someone else in costume taking up the fight, etc) or joins him in the final act of the movie as a vigilante. Someone else also previously thought that some of the images of Batman in the trailers do not look like Bale - could JGL's character even dress up as Batman prior to Wayne returning? - So many questions and theories. Cannot wait to see this movie to get the answers (oh, and i hope they don't kill Bruce Wayne off and replace him. I can understand the idea - Batman supposedly being more than a man, an idea that cannot die - but Bruce Wayne's history and training is what make him Batman. No-one else should replace him in my opinion).

Are you seeing this IMAX or regular cinema (or both)? Sadly, I won't be able to get IMAX tickets...

@MikeyRix I suppose your right, I think it maybe more frustration of the volume of viral content surrounding films at the moment seems to take something away from them. I like to watch a movie and work out in my head what’s going on rather than have the majority of it bought up prior to viewing. @SiMan I agree it really wouldnt be the same if it wasnt Bruce Wayne, having JGL take over whilst he is broken would be good but not forever.
