Watch a new featurette for The Amazing Spider-Man

Marc Webb talks us through the creative process

The Amazing Spider-Man has released a new featurette turning the spotlight on director Marc Webb, who gives an insight into the various challenges of bringing such a massive project to the big screen.

Webb talks of his excitement at watching the bare bones of the script come to life in the hands of his talented cast, with a new clip of Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone illustrating the point nicely. Their sparky chemistry already looks to be one of the highlights of the film.

There's also a brief look at a building-swinging scene that looks as exhilarating as any of the "Spidey takes flight" sequences in Sam Raimi's trilogy.  We'd imagine the 3D will come into its own during that particular moment.

Take a look at the new featurette, below…

Throughout this marketing campaign, Webb has seemed unusually enthusiastic and open about the project. While some directors are more concerned with keeping the film's secrets, Webb has been only too happy to talk of his love for the character, a refreshing approach that bodes well for the finished article.

The Amazing Spider-Man opens in the UK on 4 July 2012. There's plenty more super-hero in this summer yet...

This reboot truly sucks. The CGI is just plain awful. Action scenes are dumb and boring. The jokes trying to copy from Kick-a*s are just plain stupid. They even decided to change the origins turning Peter Parker character into a copy of Ang Lee's Hulk/Bruce Banner .. just pathetic.
