New full-length trailer for Total Recall: watch now

"You're gonna wish you had three hands"

Total Recallhas released a new full-length trailer online, and for those of you complaining at the loss of the Martian element of the original, it does at least give us a glimpse at the three-breasted girl. Not a full glimpse, but a glimpse all the same.

Colin Farrell plays factory worker Douglas Quaid, and the new trailer shows a little more of the discontent experienced in his home-life with wife Kate Beckinsale that pushes him towards a trip to memory-altering company Rekall.

Unfortunately for Quaid, the procedure to realise his super-spy fantasy goes horribly wrong, leaving him a hunted man. And to make matters worse, the person leading the hunt is the woman he thought was his wife.

Take a look at the new trailer, below…

Having been slightly unimpressed by the sanitised action of the teaser trailer, this new footage certainly seems more thrilling, as Quaid bands together with a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) in order to find Bill Nighy's leader of an underground resistance movement.

Biel and Beckinsale should whip fanboys into a frenzy with a series of physical clashes, while the reliably excellent Bryan Cranston also makes an appearance as the sinister leader of the free world, Chancellor Cohaagen.

Directed by Len Wiseman, and featuring appearances from John Cho, Bokeem Woodbine and Ethan Hawke, Total Recall will open in the UK  on 29 August 2012.

What do you reckon to the new trailer? Tell us your thoughts, below!

I'm actually liking this more and more the more I see it. Loving the Blade Runner/Minority Report Aesthetic.

      Farrell's eyebrows + Cranston's frown + boobies!! = winner

I'm still not convinced. The whooshing CGI shootout is dated, the car chase is straight out of I, Robot and the violence is still sanitised. Still, what do you expect from the director who turned Die Hard into a family film?

It looks entertaining at least, but am I the only one who smirked at the company credits 'Columbia/ Original Film'?

I was worried, I mean the original is so iconic ...but after that trailer my worries are gone I mean Bryan Cranston and bill nighy, how can it be bad if they are in it and Kate Beckinsale

Hell, this looks good. I'm all for certain movies being rebooted, especially scifi set-in-the-future type movies because as technology progesses the movies can be made to look better, more realistic etc etc, so i will watch this, but only on dvd.

woooooooooooooooo what an awesome aesthetic the city and sets look so great. I love the original too, but c'mon it was a really bad film redeemed by lots of character. it is still a relevant story, especially now that 'personality' scans and memory technology is actually going to happen. jessica biel looks searing

Did anyone else notice Big Ben and the British Traffic Light in the background? Could it be set in a future London?

I didn't see Big Ben, but I did see Elizabeth Tower. Also, was it just me, or does Kate Beckinsale's American accent suddenly turn English when she goes bad? Nothing like playing on stereotypes/tropes/whatever you want to call it.

Maybe they officially re-name it again in the future?

I am totally with @ChrisWootton on this one. I cannot see the point in remaking such an awesome and immensely loved movie. And to apparently not even change the script or plot? Preposterous!

Something seems out of placet here on the comment section. I feel like we're missing some incomprehensibly stupid remarks about film in general. Its a good feeling. Lets hope it lasts. Anyway, I dont know what to make of this film. A lot of the action from the trailer looks a bit underwhelming to me. But its got Mrs Beckinsale and Ms Biel so thats something to forward to. For me anyway. A man. With urges.

Doesn't look a patch on the original Arnie film but maybe newcomers to the film will have a good time or those who couldn't forgive Arnie's acting. It looks like a carbon copy with some added special effects that do it no justice (the opening fighting scene at Rekall looked horrible) and Colin Farrell may not be able to handle a full action leading role. It could suprise and be a fun film and it may offer some answers that were left untold in the original. I don't like all the special effects or the acting choices (aside from Bryan Cranston) neither do the robot enemies look very driven enemies.
