New gore-soaked clip from Dredd: watch now

Probably not safe for work…

Dreddhas released a new red-band clip in which our granite-jawed hero breaks into an apartment full of gun-wielding junkies, giving fans a taste of the blood-spattered mayhem to come…

Seen through the clouded perspective of the reality-altering drug, slo-mo, the clip shows Dredd break the apartment door down before laying waste to various thugs with his semi-automatic, the bullets ripping through flesh in balletic slow motion.

It's a visually arresting sequence that should give you some idea of the expertly choreographed action that punctuates Pete Travis's down and dirty take on Mega-City One baddest law-enforcer.

Take a look, below…

If you thought that was violent, be warned that the film only cranks things up from here, raining blood and guts down on the audience in glorious 3D. Fans who complained that the Sly Stallone version was overly sanitised are likely going to love it!

Starring Karl Urban in the title role, with support from Olivia Thirlby and Lena Headey, Dredd opens in the UK on 7 September 2012. Expect death-sentences aplenty...

That's what I'm talking about! Hope to hell the rating does not affect box office because I'm really hoping this franchise takes off.

Very disappointed in Empire's cop out 3 star review, if only because they have marked it down due to comparisons to 'The Raid' (the review itself suggests 4 stars). Please do not fall into the same trap TF!

Hey guys, if you liked this clip you are gonna love the film. This is quite early on in the film and looks stunning in 3D (all the Slo-Mo sequences really work well), there's loads more like this in the film. It will be rated 18, Entertainment do not plan to cut it, but if dross like Underworld can keep getting sequels on the money it makes (which at the box office isn't much) then I'm confident a sequel to Dredd will be along in the next couple of years. By the way @Heisenberg, nice to see you made it through the Resi Evil films alive and well :-)

I liked it more before i found out it was 3D. That will just ruin it. I've seen many movies in "3D". It just a useless waste of money and isn't very impressive. This is just disappointing. I was really looking forward to this film as well.

@trist, thank you my good man. It was a rough road, but i persevered, and i feel a much stronger person for having overcome them.

Sorry, but CGI blood looks terrible. More like cranberry juice than anything else. What happened to good ol' squibs?

hey Stonebraker, you can still see it in 2D. Thats what i do as im not a fan of 3D either. I just see them in 2D. I'm looking forward to this. The slow motion stuff looks awesome but hopefully there isnt too much of it. Could get a bit repetitive. and who cares if it's a similar premise to the raid. Heaps of films have similar stories. Just enjoy the ride for what it is.
