New Iron Man TV spot for The Avengers: watch now

Tony Stark in the spotlight

The Avengers has released what we presume will be its final TV spot, with the focus falling squarely upon the shoulders of Tony Stark, better known in the Marvel universe as Iron Man.

The new spot shows us plenty of footage of Stark quipping and snarking his way through discussions with S.H.I.E.L.D. and his fellow team-mates, but there’s also a look at Iron Man in some extremely explosive action.

“Stark, show me something new,” challenges Captain America, before Iron Man rises to the challenge in spectacular style. “How about that?” he replies in perfect deadpan…

Check out the new spot, below…

Predictably, Iron Man is one of the chief beneficiaries of Joss Whedon’s whip-smart script, and Robert Downey Jr. is right back on form after his oddly subdued performance in Iron Man 2. You can check out our official Avengers review to read our thoughts on the film as a whole.

The Avengers assemble in UK cinemas tomorrow. The waiting is nearly at an end…

I put all these TVs spots together and together they formed the entire movie. Saved me a tenner!

It's a bit much, isn't it. I can't see that a plethora of tv spots and trailers, at this stage in the game, is going to get lots of people to see the film if they weren't already interested. They're just giving more and more to the fans who seek these things out (such as me), and who are already going to see the film multiple times (such as me). I think, like with the current Dark Knight Rises advertising, less is more.

@FBMBurgess, but when we get closer to release date, is there going to be a deluge of DKR promotional stuff? I agree though, it has become too much. I wonder which film has the record for the most footage shown in its promotional material?

Interesting question - I'd like to know the answer to that myself. And no just 'spoiler' material, but the most footage of a film released as promotional material. Also, I hear there will be a new (final?) trailer for TDK with The Avengers?

There was no new DKR trailer with the Avengers. They played the most recent one tho, and Prometheus, MIB3, new Pixar. And all the promotional material doesn't spoil anything, there is so much more in the film I didn't expect to see.

Awesome, I'm looking forward to it. Not seeing it until the weekend.
