New photos from The Dark Knight Rises' LA set

Bane's plans for Gotham revealed?

As if the photos of Anne Hathaway's full Catwoman costume weren't enough of a treat this weekend, new images from the Los Angeles shoot show off a bit of kit that's sure to have a major impact on The Dark Knight Rises
Yes there were more images of Christian Bale's Batman in the Batwing and shots of multiple Tumblers but it's the thing being revealed in the back of that box that has TF's full attention.
The massive device was previously seen in Pittsburgh during the shoot at Heinz Field and if fan speculation is right appears to be a doomsday orb.
Is Tom Hardy's Bane planning to finish what Liam Neeson's Ra's Al Ghul started in Batman Begins and utterly destroy Gotham?
Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises opens on 20 July 2012.

Did you peek in the back of the box? Or is it nothing your spoiler-soiled eyes haven't seen before? Are you half hoping this is a doomsday orb and that it actually goes off, creating the kind of onscreen destruction that would keep Michael Bay awake at nights? We're all pointy Catwoman ears in the comments section below!

As much as I am trying to look forward to this film, I just can't be doing with the whole Catwoman thing. It was good for Tim Burton's vision of Batman and I know she's an historical character in the comic series and beyond, but still, it just doesn't seem to fit with Nolan's films. Her outfit looks a bit lame as well. Not very inspired.

Now don't get me wrong I'm really looking forward to this film but, BATWING??? REALLY?!!! and Catwomen?!??! I'm not really getting those two things and I fear it might descend into the realms of Joel Schumacher's abomination! We can only wait and see and I do think Chris Nolan is too smart and clever to let it happen but I'm still skeptical

Wow, I sure can't wait to see that "steel ball" in action. Surely gonna be the greatest steel ball film ever made?!
