So you’ve seen the original, you’ve seen the trailer, you’ve seen it all before, maybe… But something inside us here at TF is giving Poseidon the benefit of the doubt.
If you’re still iffy on whether to throw Wolfgang Petersen’s bobbing cruise ship survival flick a lifeline, then take a sneaky peek at these new clips available from Moviefone – they include a nice little intro from star Josh Lucas.
Poseidon follows the dramatic tale of the crew and passengers on a cruise liner that gets toppled by a monster wave. As the ship slowly drifts downwards, the survivors battle to make it out of the stricken vessel alive.
Ronald Neame’s 1972 original movie stacked the stars high, boasting Gene Hackman, Ernest Borgnine and Shelley Winters. Petersen’s update sees Kurt Russell, Richard Dreyfuss, Josh Lucas and Andre Braugher from TV drama, Thief, set adrift. Poseidon will be docking in UK cinemas on 2 June.
