Two new posters arrive for The Wolverine

Hugh Jackman goes beserk

The Wolverine has released a pair of brand new posters online, one of which finds our sideburn-sporting hero finds himself surrounded by a swarm of black-clad ninjas, while the other has him bellowing against a Tokyo skyline.

The new film will pick up some time after the events of X-Men: The Last Stand, and will find Logan searching for a new life in Japan away from his former team-mates.

It isn’t long before he’s fallen head over heels for a local girl, but things get complicated when it transpires that her father is the head of a powerful Yakuza crime gang.

The new posters both play up the idea of Wolverine being out of his comfort zone, while Hugh Jackman looks as ripped as ever in the title role. Can Wolvie take on hoards of ninjas powered by shouty rage alone? We shall see…

Directed by James Mangold and co-starring Rila Fukushima, Will Yun Lee and Tao Okamoto, The Wolverine will open in the UK on 26 July 2013.

Take a look at the new posters, below…

Somebody got paid to design this? Looks like a child could have done a better job. Still, I am looking forward to this film.

I don't normally comment on this like this - but jeez, bub! Is that Ninja one for real?

The Ninja one is potentially a really nice, different idea for a poster, making the whole thing a bit more comic-booky. But unfortunately it looks as if Wolverine has been cut and paste on using MS Paint. Also who knew that wolverine simply KNEELING will cause concrete to shatter.

Whoah... that first poster is amazingly bad. They used the very same head from the bottom poster. Just de-saturated the colour a little. Lets hope the film isnt a rush job like the poster.

@trist808 spent the past 20 minutes researching the weight of a fictional metal. Even if I had found the results to make my sarcastic comment valid (I did not), I would still be the loser in this situation.

I've been reading comics for over 30 years, I didn't have to research ... still, I'm pretty sure I'm the overall "loser" in this scenario :-D

2nd poster looks ok, but the ninja one looks like a puddle of p**s.

is the first image from the movie tie in puzzle book 'Where's Wolvie?'. i've been staring at it for hours and still can't find him, and neither can those poor ninjas, they're looking in every direction. it's like he's become one with his surroundings. he could be anywhere.
