New red-band trailer for Pain & Gain: watch now

Welcome to the American Dream

Pain & Gain has released a new red-band trailer full of rippling muscles, bikini-clad babes and a healthy amount of swearing.

The new trailer is heavy on the comedy as Mark Wahlberg, Dwayne Johnson and Anthony Mackie manage to make a right old balls-up of their kidnap attempt on Tony Shalhoub’s crooked businessman.

There’s also a glimpse at a scene-stealing Ken Jeong, appearing as a particularly foul-mouthed life coach. Don’t be a don’ter, people…

Take a look at the new trailer, below:

It doesn’t seem unreasonable to suggest that this looks like Michael Bay’s funniest film since, well, ever, as the three leads share out the knuckleheaded laughs between them.

Co-starring Rebel Wilson, Ed Harris and Robb Corddry, Pain & Gain opens in the UK on 3 May 2013. It promises to be a riot…

What do you think of the new trailer? Tell us, below!

I'm sorry but I really don't think this looks funny at all. The jokes are weak and at times look desperate. I'm not a big fan of Michael Bay's movies anyway. If you do then good for you.

      >I'm not a big fan of Michael Bay's movies anyway. If you do then good for you. While the grammar irks me the sentiment is applicable. "I Michael Bay. I movies make, do I. Big budget! Why? Me know not, and lots money confuse Michael. What do with money? Splosions! Lots splosions. Big booms. Big budget makes Mike boom big with big booms!"

I'll happily admit that i've sat through stuff like Bad Boys, The Rock and Armageddon and enjoyed them, but while there's no doubt that Bay has become a bit explosion crazy in the past few years, if there's one thing he is unquestionably BAD at is comedy! How he's managed to persuade actors with the calibre of Steve Buscemi, Peter Stormare, John Malkovich, John Turturro, Frances McDormand, Michael Shannon and Ewan McGregor (to name a few) to run around making stupid noises and screaming like complete tw4ts, is utterly beyond me. Either he's holding members of their families hostage or he's got seriously more clout in Hollywood than we're giving him credit for. Either way, this looks like all the worst parts of the Transformers Trilogy thrown together and spat out of Pearl Harbours ar$e!
