New Regency options The End Of Eternity

More Asimov-birthed sci-fi on the way

Production company New Regency has nabbed the rights to Isaac Asimov’s time travel tale The End Of Eternity.

Originally published in 1955, the book finds Earth under the control of the Eternity, a ruling class who can travel through the ages to wipe out opponents and avert disasters before they happen.

But when one of the timekeepers falls in love with a woman from another time period, disaster looms.

Ridley Scott

Variety reports that despite the book having been out of print for years now, it remains a tempting project for filmmakers to attempt. Ridley Scott and Tom Cruise were the most recent team attached over at Paramount, but nothing came of it.

Now New Regency is on the hunt for a director and a writer to start the quest afresh.
