New teaser poster for Prometheus

There's that giant head again...

The steady drip-feed of Prometheus promo-material continues apace with the release of a dark and doom-laden new teaser poster.

Sporting the ominous tagline “the search for our beginning could lead to our end”, the poster shows a lone space explorer approaching the giant head we’d seen previously in the official production stills.

That concentrated burst of brightness at the poster’s core also appears to be a call-back to the green glow of the original Alien poster, leading us to question just how connected the two films really are.

The film will see Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace, Idris Elba and Charlize Theron star as a group of intergalactic explorers who discover a clue to mankind’s origins on Earth. Pretty vague, granted, but that’s all we’ve got for now.

Prometheus will open in the UK on 1 June 2012. Plenty of time to speculate then, as to what it's all about…

I'm really excited about this, mainly because it's being portrayed by the film makers as a real sci-fi. I hope it lives up to that and doesn't turn out to be simplistic.

Another krap tagline (after amazing spiderman) , must have taken all of a poo-break to come up with. Then again, you can't really compete with 'in space no-one can hear you scream'. Still...Ridley Scott doing Sci-fi again, yes please!
