New trailer and poster for Fast & Furious 6: watch now

And a new star rumoured for to be joining Part 7

A new trailer for Fast & Furious 6 has landed online, and its every bit as thrilling as the Super Bowl teaser and first full trailer suggested it might be.

The new film sees Dwayne Johnson’s law-man catching up with Vin Diesel and his crew in order to enlist their help in taking down Luke Evans’ villainous mercenary.

Things are complicated further when they realise that one of Evans’ posse is none other than Michelle Rodriguez, having seemingly watched her die several episodes back in the series…

The new trailer is essentially a more streamlined, tightly-edited version of the first one, but it’s an adrenaline-packed treat nonetheless…

Take a look at the new trailer, below:

Somewhat implausibly, the Fast & Furious series seems to be improving with age, with this latest instalment looking to have upped the action ante even further. Supercars vs. tanks vs. planes? It’s pretty hard to resist…

And a new teaser poster, placing Paul Walker's Brian O'Conner against the same idyllic cloudy blue sky that Vin Diesel's poster saw him pose again. Check it out below (via IMP Awards):

Meanwhile, AICN has broken some fairly major news about the next part of the franchise, which is a mite spoilery to say the least. However, if you want to know, then read on below...

Apparently, none other than Jason Statham will be playing the villain in Part 7, with the star set to make a teasing appearance at the end of Part 6. He'll be playing the brother of Evans' character, which probably suggests that things don't end peachily for the villain this time out.

Directed by Justin Lin and co-starring Paul Walker, Jordana Brewster and Gina Carano, Fast & Furious 6 will open in the UK on 24 May 2013.

I agree, this series/franchise is actually getting better with each new installment, the last two have been great fun and thoroughly entertaining - this looks bonkers (but in a totally good way) and if that info about Statham is correct, bring on Part 7, I don't recall The Stath playing a villain before :)

@trist808; Yes he has. In 2004's Cellular. It was a pretty average film to be honest.

Vin Diesel will have the luxury of being one of the few guys out there to get his a*s kicked by The Rock and The Stath.
