New trailer for Kathryn Bigelow’s Zero Dark Thirty

The hunt for Osama begins

A new trailer has appeared online for Zero Dark Thirty, Kathryn Bigelow’s fictionalised account of the assassination of Osama bin Laden.

The film follows the decade-long search for the man who topped the America’s Most Wanted list for years on end, culminating in the Seal Team Six operation that finally shot and killed the world’s most famous terrorist.

The new trailer places a lot more focus on the respective teams involved in the hunt, from Mark Strong’s exasperated suit to Joel Edgerton’s gruff soldier. It’s a suitably thrilling affair.

Take a look, below…

While the previous trailer was fairly light on actual footage, this one gives us a good impression of how the movie will play out, part war-room potboiler and part military action thriller. It promises to be a heady combination.

Co-starring Jessica Chastain, James Gandolfini, Scott Adkins and Kyle Chandler, Zero Dark Thirty opens in the UK on 25 January 2013.

Utterly pointless if it is to be a "fictionalised" account of the real events. Why not tell the real story?

Because the real story is classified.
