New trailer for The Campaign: watch now

Or, "Will Ferrell punches a baby"

The Campaign has released a new trailer online in which Will Ferrell and Zach Galifianakis trade insults as rival candidates running for Congress.

Ferrell plays Cam Brady, a long-term congressman expecting to walk into a fifth term in office unopposed. Sadly for him, he's reckoned without Marty Huggins, a local simpleton who decides he's the man to give Brady a run for his money.

On the face of it, it seems like a no-contest, what with Brady's slick, crowd-pleasing demeanour, and Huggins' general idiocy. However, that's not quite how it plays out, with Huggins' down-home innocence providing surprisingly popular with the voters.

If there's one thing every political satire needs, it's Will Ferrell being lowered on wires while playing an electric keyboard. And there's the baby-punching incident, which already looks to be one of the comedy highlights of the year so far…

Directed by Jay Roach and co-starring Jason Sudeikis, Brian Cox, John Lithgow and Dan Aykroyd, The Campaign opens in the UK on 28 September 2012. He did indeed just punch a baby!
