New viral video for The Amazing Spider-Man

Captain Stacy speaks

The Amazing Spider-Manhas revealed the next stage in its viral marketing campaign with the release of a new video featuring Denis Leary’s Captain Stacy giving an interview to Daily Bugle TV.

Sadly, the news anchor is one Eva Predelson rather than the combustible J. Jonah Jameson, but Stacy makes up for the latter’s absence by preaching from his “Spider-Man is dangerous” songbook.

“We have a masked criminal roaming the streets of our city, posing as some kind of a hero,” he begins. “But I ask you, what kind of a hero wears a mask?”

Take a look at the video below for more…

Before you go calling the phone number mentioned by Stacy, allow us to save you a few pennies and point you towards the website it is designed to recommend, . It’s a hosting site where people can post their pics of Spidey, nominally to help out the NYPD.

It’s not quite on the level of The Dark Knight’s viral campaign, but we’re still enjoying this comic-book game of connect the dots. The Amazing Spider-Man swings into UK cinemas on 4 July 2012.

What do you think of Leary as the Captain? A good fit? Tell us, below.

I re-watched the trilogy last week, 1 and 2 are still perfect but 3 left me with a bad taste in my mouth.

Actually he has motor neurone disease which although it afflicts his body, doesn't alter the fact he's got one of the finest minds of any human being alive. Ever. I'm glad you find someone else's misfortune so amusing, you hateful little s**t.

@TheKingofCinema, you called someone an idiot because they didn't get your joke and then went on to not get the joke @writerdave87 was saying. He meant Stephen Hawking couldn't get your joke in a sarcastic sense because Hawking is one of the smartest people to ever live on this planet.
