Call off the furious anger aimed at Marvel (well, some of it): Samuel L Jackson has worked out a deal to return as Nick Fury for Iron Man 2.
And it’s potentially much more than that – the commitment includes an option for Jackson to crop up in nine future Marvel movies, which means he may well show up in the likes of Thor, The Avengers and essentially every Marvel movie until the sun goes supernova.
Plus it also seems likely that Marvel might want to kick-start a S.H.I.E.LD film now they have their leading man under contract.
For now, though, he’ll likely just play supporting roles as Fury weaves in and out of various Marvel franchises.
It’s some good news at last for Marvel, who have been beset by allegations of tight-fistedness over seemingly lowball offers to the likes if Mickey Rourke and Sam Rockwell.
Iron Man 2 starts shooting in the spring – hopefully with a full cast.

Are you glad to hear Jackson will unleash his Fury? Or should Marvel have kicked him to the curb and hired the David Hasselhof version of the character?

Rock! On! I just hope he ends up in movies that are more like Spiderman 2, X-Men 2, and Iron Man, rather than the atrocious Spiderman 3, X-Men 3, and the Fantastic Four franchise.
