Nicolas Cage says Kick-Ass is too violent

The film won't follow the comic...

Nic Cage may be running around your local multiplex holding a big gun in Bangkok Dangerous but it seems that the Con Air star isn't a fan of movie violence and wants Matthew Vaughn to keep it out of Kick-Ass.

"When I said ‘yes’ to this movie, it was to a script. Then I started seeing the comics which are pretty far out in terms of violence. But I think Matthew and the script have a different style to it.”

“I’m not fond of gratuitous violence,” Cage told MTV.

Kick-Ass is a Mark Millar creation and, as anyone who has read his Wanted will know, it is possible to translate a Millar comic to the big screen without the blood and guts. Even one that carried the line 'Sickening violence: just the way you like it!' on the cover of its second issue.
