Nicole Kidman might be having a rough time trying to find nice things to say about her latest horror thriller (that would be much-delayed pic The Invasion), but she’s clearly happy to be heading back towards a genre which has served her well in the past – supernatural terror.
Recalling the creepy atmosphere of The Others, Universal has nabbed the remake rights to Al final del espectro, a Colombian chiller about a woman who, after she suffers a tragedy, becomes a shut-in in a fancy apartment. Trouble is, the place is haunted and she soon finds herself seeing things.
Original director Juan Felipe Orozco is making the dicey gamble to helm the American remake, while the studio is praying that The Number 23 writer Fernley Phillips doesn’t make a hash of the script.
