Looks like Rambo's next outing won't be a sci-fi flavoured smack down with a genetically modified killer after all.
Nope, according to Sylvester Stallone, who got in touch with fan site StalloneZone, they're taking the character back to a plot that was rumoured long before the idea of Stallone's old warrior taking on a beast was ever mooted.
"I’m letting you know that Rambo has changed course and the story about hunting the man/beast will be done using another character in the lead," Stallone writes.
"Rambo himself will be heading over the border to a violent city where many young women have vanished. There will be blood."
Well, at least some things never change.
The original story was reported by Variety back in August, and would find our hero tracking a young girl abducted near the US/Mexico border and taking down a human trafficking ring.
We'll honestly take either project if it means more Rambo mayhem - but we wonder which character will end up facing the creature? Would be hilarious if it was Rocky...

Are you pleased with the change for Rambo? Or would you rather have the creature feature?

If it's another Stallone character that's going to be chasing down a supernatural/medically-enhanced/bio-engineered/* foe, then the only man for the job is John Spartan. *delete where applicable.
