No Transformers 3 for Michael Bay
“I've had enough”, says director.

Hollywood directors, start writing your CVs now. Michael Bay has said that he will not be returning for Transformers 3, should Paramount decide to make it.
“It's easy to go shoot an art movie in a winery in the South of France,” he said. “But people have no idea how hard it is to create something like Transformers.

“They (the critics) review me before they've even seen the movie."
It seems like a strange time in his career to be worrying about what the critics think, but it seems Bay’s mid-life crisis is genuine.
He adds, "After the three and a half years I've spent making these movies, I feel like I've had enough of the Transformers world.
"I need to do something totally divergent, something without any explosions."
You heard it here, folks. Mark up July 4, 2010 on your calendar – something like a remake of A Bout De Souffle by Michael Bay is on the way.

I am almost sobbing. Michael *slap* snap out of it. Nobody wants to see you do a period drama or an indie film about butterflies. You are the master of action movies. Ring Will Smith, let him tell you how amazing you are, and make Bad Boys 3.

Hang on though http://www.totalfilm.com/news/whoops-transformers-3-should-be-2012 he's pretty much previously said he'll be doing 3. Maybe he means "the next film" he does will be something else..

Bay not doing explosions is like, I dunno, Heinz not doing beans. Or Tarantino refraining from using the word 'f**k'.

He is a bit of a one trick pony though. take bad boys 2 and the highway scene. i think that if u watch the island you will see this scene again just with futuristic cars. armagedon astoids and when the autobots arrive to earth in the first transformers. Looking at the trailer it looks like another armagedon outing. dont get me wrong i like the transformers films n bad boys but if you have seen just one of these films you've basically seen them all

@Rusco87
Watched the trailer in the cinema with some friends the other day and we were all laughing at how familiar a lot of the shots were. There's one that even looks like it was from Pearl Harbour...
