Owen Wilson voicing Marmaduke

He's doing it doggy style for Fox

Clearly, making Marley & Me didn't put Owen Wilson off of working with big, excitable dogs: he's signed on to voice Marmaduke in Fox's new CG/live-action kid pic.

Adapted from the comic strip originally created in 1955 by Bad Anderson and Phil Leeming, the film will stretch the concept to let Marmaduke talk for the first time (usually he just slobbers a lot).

Tom Dey is directing a story that sees Marm's family, the Winslows (Judy Greer and William H Macy) making the move from Kansas to California, where their dog meets a whole new group of pooches.

Marmaduke ends up having to sort out a war between mutts and pedigrees while winning the purebred lady dog of his dreams.

Bet you can't wait for this one…
