Paradise Lost artwork online

Bradley Cooper's got the devils eyes

The first concept art for Legendary Pictures’ Paradise Lost has appeared online.

The film stars Bradley Cooper as Lucifer and is based on John Milton’s poem of the same name, and follows our anti-hero Satan as he tempts Adam and Eve away from the Garden of Eden (amongst many other nefarious acts).

There's definitely enough drama in the epic source material to give this huge blockbuster potential, but also enough for it to be a crushing disappointment if cack-handedly, erm… handled.

Alex Proyas is at the helm, and we're hoping this one is influenced by his classic The Crow and absolutely nothing like his atrocious Knowing

Expect an action-packed picture, with the battle between archangels Michael and Lucifer taking centre stage.

No word yet on who will play Michael, but you can expect another big name to be thrown into the ring soon.

Could the ever-likeable Cooper really convince as Lucifer? And who would you like to see as Michael? Tell us!

The Crow wasnt a classic just a stylised barrel of man custard....lets hope Paradise Lost is closer to his Dark City, a brilliantly imaginative and mind-bending cult classic. Gerard Butler for Micheal.

We all know Ewan McGregor would be the perfect Michael.

Please give us a break with this nonsense. Why don't they just go the whole hog and make it 3D! Hollywood lately you feel has no qualms about turning any amount of great literature into a car-crash of a movie, that unless its focused on ANOTHER reboot/remake. If this "movie" turns out anything more than a steaming pile of manure I will eat my hat...

Agree with Higgins 78, besides unknowns or fresh faces are the only way to make this movie stand on the eternal grounds that Milton wrote about. There is also more Promo imagery available on another well known site which looks promising yet dire. The story iteself is so vast an etherial that the interpretation per individual alone will make this hard to target for audiences. Your ideas would never srpass my own. Every shot would have to be devastatingly beautiful and ghastly. Hugely spiritual and more than a battle of words but a powerful dream that leaves your life changed. Dark City was creepy on first watch. I think a joint effort like that of the Hobbit is required for such a helm. Gasper Noe with Proyas or Del Toro with Scott etc. The battle between dark and light and tons of nudity is a true homage to the text.
