Paul Giamatti signs on for Ironclad

He'll play King John in the medieval drama

Paul Giamatti will be practicing his smug ruler look in the mirror now that he's been cast to play the tyrant King John In Ironclad.

Jonathan English is directing the medieval-set action thriller which will star James Purefoy (who's already seen plenty of fighting action in Solomon Kane) as a member of the Knights Templar.

Purefoy and his fellow knights will defend Rochester Castle against the corrupt King and his seemingly unstoppable army.

The swords will be drawn in Wales next month...

James Purefoy is my KNIGHT in shining armour! He is brilliant and as I fell in love with him in ROME and his earlier works and he will be brilliant in IRONCLAD as well as in SOLOMON KANE!(Solomon Kane is long overdue, so Lionsgate hopefully will hurry and release it here in the USA!) IRONCLAD is going to be awesome and Paul Giamatti always stirs things up in all of his roles. So Hurry and get us some stuff for the movie so we know what's going on! A faithful fan of James forever, Penny Douglas Converse, LA USA
