The first trailer has arrived for campus-set dramedy Admission, in which Tina Fey’s admissions officer finds her life turned upside down by the arrival of one particular pupil.
A recruiting visit to a nearby high school (run by her old college pal Paul Rudd) brings her into contact with a teen prodigy, and a bit of digging soon suggests that he might be her long lost son…
While a film headed up by Fey and Rudd might look like a straight comedy, this seems like a far more contemplative affair, with both leads getting the opportunity to play it straight, as well as cracking wise.
Take a look, below…
As we hinted at before, the trailer isn’t heavy on laughs, but Rudd and Fey are such likeable leads, we can see ourselves investing in their characters in what seems like a life lesson-heavy plotline.
A first poster has also been released. It tends towards the sappily generic, but you can check it out below:
Directed by Paul Weitz and co-starring Lily Tomlin, Gloria Reuben and Michael Sheen, Admission will open in the US on 8 March 2013.
