It might have the worst title since Judy Moody And The Not Bummer Summer, but finally we have some good news regarding A Good Day To Die Hard.
The always awesome Paul Walker has been named as one of the contenders to play John McClane's son, alongside some more leftfield choices.
Ben Foster, Paul Dano, Aaron Paul and Milo Ventimiglia are all said to be meeting with Bruce Willis next week to try out for the part.
That list of actors makes us think that John's relationship with his son is going to be, how shall we put it, 'complicated.'
Aaron Paul is best known for playing a drug dealer in Breaking Bad, Paul Dano's character descriptions are normally followed by the word 'weaselly,' Ben Foster's carved out a career playing edgy anti-heroes and Milo Ventimiglia played someone called Rick Rape in Gamer.
Which happens to be the worst character name since… Well, ever. Perhaps it's how he made the shortlist.
Of that lot, Paul Walker is the odd one out - not least because he's the oldest - but definitely our favourite.
But as long as it's not Shia LaBeouf (sorry Shia, we still haven't quite forgiven you for Crystal Skull), we'll be happy.

I like Ben Foster out of the above. Just watching him go bats**t crazy at some point would make the entire film

Aaron Paul deserves some big films like Bryan Cranston is getting now...

I like Paul Walker (though his acting is a bit spotty) but he does seem too old. I definitely like Aaron Paul out of the above choices. I feel like Ben Foster does nearly the same thing in every movie. Everyone has seen him do edgy and crazy a bunch of times. (Also, his Angel in X-men: The Last Stand sucked donkey balls. Not entirely his fault, but still..)

i really hope there is a solid role in the movie for Aaron Paul. He has a great screen presence and is a brilliant actor. He needs a big movie. Paul W. has his Fart and Furanus franchise, He does not need to be Maclaine Jr.

Milo Ventimiglia, as good an actor as he is, cannot be John McClane AND Rocky Balboa's son at the same time! It's just wrong. Paul Dano? McClane would drink his milkshake in a few seconds... Of the bunch, Ben Foster is probably the best actor but... why the hell don't they bring back the wonderful Mary-Elizabeth Winstead?

I'd go with Lucas Black.. he has pretty good screen presence.. failing that it would be good to see Winstead back in the action.. She was pretty good in Die Hard 4 and had some good chemistry with Willis (I quite liked number 4)

Paul Walker? Why don't they just hire a brick or a lump of wood it would probably act more & be cheaper.

It has to be Aaron Paul. It's not enough that the star of Die Hard can do action. They need to look like an everyman, a normal joe who can take a beating and still come out on top. That's what made Bruce Willis so compelling in the original (and best)! If they don't cast Aaron Paul then someone needs throwing out the 30th floor of the Nakatomi Plaza! Also, they have to have better villaina this time round. Die Hard villians need to be up to something and have a hidden agenda, and play it with glee. I like no.4 and Die Hard is my fave action film, but that's what the last one lacked. No-one was having any fun!

I would laugh my a*s off if Michael Cera ended up with the role.. which he would never get, so I guess I get to keep my luscious a*s. He would be even worse than Shia LaBeouf. Wait, who even suggested Michael Cera? Silliness, I say.

In all seriousness the Die Hard franchise does not cast actors on acting skill but rather the action star appeal and masculinity so out of that list Paul walker seems to be the most likely candidate.... and @dalidab suggesting michael cera and jessie eisenberg should get you shot!!! like seriously have you seen any evidence of either of them being action stars? or have you ever seen a single movie because it wouldnt be surprising if you lived under a rock :L

Remember when action movies like Alien, Die Hard, LEthal Weapon and Predator were (and still are) 18 certificate and made for grown ups? I miss those days...

back in the day where the made an action movie for the sole purpose to entertain an audience regardless of classification and now with censoring laws we have to sugar coat these once great franchises..

Andrew Garfield has the Empire State Building of foreheads.. anyway this Die HArd is probably going to be sh*t becuase baby-faced directors havent got a clue what made action films awesome in the eighties and early 90s, (CLue: they were made for grown ups)
