Paul WS Anderson defends Death Race

“There's a lot more plot left in the film…”

Paul WS Anderson knows what it’s like to suffer the slings and arrows of movie fan hatred. But his latest project - a rebooting of Roger Corman’s cult classic Death Race 2000 - has been subjected to extra-harsh criticism… and that’s just for the trailer.

Still, MTV tracked the director down and confronted him with the biggest complaints aired elsewhere so that he can offer some defence. So if you think it all looks a bit too Speed Racer, or if there isn’t enough pedestrian carnage “I think it's good that we went in this slightly different direction.
