Johansson’s got Prestige, Barrymore Loves a thriller

Seems you can’t swing a cat this week without hitting a project that Scarlett Johansson has signed on to – or is considering. So pardon us while kitty whacks up against The Prestige.

Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins follow-up – a tale of duelling magicians in 1900s London has been hoovering up the sort of cast most directors dream about. Christian Bale, Hugh Jackman, Michael Caine and David Bowie are all on board, with Johansson joining them to play Olivia, a magician’s assistant sent to spy on them.

Also today, Drew Barrymore has picked up the psychological thriller He Loves Me. Through her Flower Films production company, the one-time friend to ET has purchased Joyce Brotman’s script to produce under Flower’s new agreement with Warner Bros. The plot is strictly under wraps at the moment, though the title leads us to think there’s a stalkerish element…
