Channing Tatum’s proposed Peter Pan prequel seems to have incited a Wizard Of Oz-style obsession with all things Never Never Land.
While there are currently half a dozen Oz films all in various stages of development, there are now two Peter Pan prequels heading for the big screen.
The first is Tatum’s dreadful-sounding vehicle at Sony. The second is the more reasonable-sounding Peter And The Starcatchers.
Disney are currently considering adapting the book by Dave Berry and Ridley Pearson, which depicts Pan and his lost boys as pirates in the years before they met Wendy.
“We considered making [it] a movie,” says Disney chief Bob Iger said. “We haven’t made a decision on that yet.”
Disney have, however, hired a screenwriter for the project, and have been testing the Off Broadway production of the book (above) to see if it would translate well into a movie.

This is suppose to be a great book. I have it, haven't read it. Book adaptions can be a good way to go. Why rebuild something if you already have a base? Only time will tell and let's think you knew Disney would have to come out with a Peter Pan pre-quel.
