Somewhere, Kevin Sorbo is smiling, but despite him having played Hercules on the gogglebox for years, we doubt he’s at the top of Peter Berg’s casting list.
But it’s true, Berg is developing and aiming to direct Hercules: The Thracian Wars, which will take its plot from a recent comic book series written by Steve Moore. Berg apparently likes the tale, as it’s heavier on character work than previous versions of the Hercules tale. Ryan Condal is writing the script.
There’s no word on when it will happen yet – and Berg is already facing a mammoth task in bringing Frank Herbert’s Dune to the screen again. Variety is strapping on its sandals.
