Philip Seymour Hoffman is now a director

He’ll helm Jack Goes Boating

Philip Seymour Hoffman, last seen in Synecdoche, New York, has made the leap to directing and will kick off his stint behind the camera with rom com Jack Goes Boating.

He’s also planning to star in the film, which is adapted from the off-Broadway play and finds two New York misfits bonding over cooking classes, swimming lessons and drugs.

John Ortiz and Daphne Rubin-Vega are transferring over from roles they played on stage, but the main focus for us is the ace Amy Ryan, who was one of the best things about Gone Baby Gone.

Producer

Hoffman’s also producing and plans to kick off shooting in – where else? New York – next month.

Clint Eastwood, of course. Silly question. Good news about PSH, he frickin' rocks.

Eastwood is the best but since he's been named I'd say Ben Affleck whose "Gone Baby Gone" was really impressive. Good news concerning Hoffman though. I love everything he touches. http://www.youtube.com/zaphodfilm
