Plot details released for Transformers 4

Scientific meddling ahoy!

The Michigan Film Office has released the first plot details concerning Transformers 4, and rather than rebooting the story altogether, the new film does indeed pick up after the events of the third one.

A press release (which also points to the fact T4 is shooting in Michigan) has arrived online giving a brief outline of the plot, in which some foolhardy scientific experimentation unleashes the Transformer menace on Earth once more.

“As humanity picks up the pieces, following the conclusion of Transformers: Dark of the Moon, Autobots and Decepticons have all but vanished from the face of the planet.

“However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control - all while an ancient, powerful Transformer menace sets Earth in his crosshairs.”

“The epic adventure and battle between good and evil, freedom and enslavement ensues.” Presumably with lots of explosions. Directed by Michael Bay and starring Mark Wahlberg, Transformers 4 opens in the UK on 27 June 2014.

"However, a group of powerful, ingenious businessman and scientists attempt to learn from past Transformer incursions and push the boundaries of technology beyond what they can control" ... mmmm, could it be the humans create the Dinobots? It would be one way of introducing them and an anicent TF menace heading for Earth does sound like Unicron, but Bay will botch it all up just as he has three times already ... and it will make a shed-load of cash just like all the others and part 5 will be with us before we know it (sigh). What really worries me is Wahlberg Vs Green-Screen, he can barely act opposite other humans as it is, let alone when nothing's there, that said, he managed to make it through TED, so perhaps I'm being a tad harsh on him . . .

Dinobots are the worst disguise ever. "We'll transform into 30ft metal dinosaurs! They'll never find us!"

They should do a live action of "The Transformers: The Movie" from 1986

@Hadouken76, to be fair in their original incarnation, the Dinobots were created by the crash-landed Ark as security drones to safe-guard the autobots until they re-awakened. They are more a force of nature than sneaky robots in disguise, their alt forms are just designed for destruction ... plus they do look pretty flippin' cool. They were an instant hit and I have to say as a kid in the 80's they were my favourite out of all of Autobots and I had the full set of toys (including the really hard to get hold of in this country Swoop - the Pterodactyl). It may not make a lot of sense (but then what does in a Michael Bay movie) but I would love to see them on screen in some form ... mind you, I really got excited about seeing a combiner Transformer ... and then I saw Revenge Of The Fallen and the botch job they did on Devastator (ugh)
