Paramount just can’t say goodbye to one of its favourite franchises, and when that film series is the Jack Ryan adventures, which have all been cash cows for the studio, who can blame it?
But in an intriguing twist, the company is turning to an unexpected champion to bring the Ryan series back to life: Sam Raimi. Yes, once he’s completed his latest horror, Drag Me To Hell, Paramount is trying to convince Raimi to produce and direct a re-launch of Ryan’s world.
And he’s definitely interested – according to Variety’s report he loves the character. There’s no word on an actor, or even a script yet, but Paramount would want any new movie ready to hit cinemas in 2010.
