Ralph Fiennes joining Clash Of The Titans?

The remake might have found its Hades

BY Total Film Apr 9th 2009 0:00AMFILED UNDER: Movie news

Ralph Fiennes – AKA Harry Potter’s Voldemort – is locking down a deal to play Hades, lord of the underworld in Clash Of The Titans.

It’s not a shocker that Warners would want to bring in one of its Potters players, and Fiennes certainly has the gravitas to play Hades.

If he signs, he’ll be joining one of the most eclectic casts around, which already features Sam Worthington, Gemma Arteton, Mads Mikkelsen and Alexa Davalos (below). Liam Neeson had been signed as Zeus, but his role is in question following his wife Natasha Richardson’s death last month.

In other Fiennes news, he’s also circling a lead role in Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant’s The Men At The Pru.

Set in the 1970’s the coming-of-age tale finds a group of young men working for the  titular insurance company. Gervais – who is directing – has plans to turn the film into a series, though we doubt Fiennes would be involved in that.

Finally, Fiennes will also crop up in an uncredited cameo in Emma Thompson’s Nanny McPhee schedule. Can we stop saying Fiennes, now, please? Fine…

Which are you anticipating more? Big-budget Titans? Or more Gervais/Merchant action?
