RDJ and Gwyneth Paltrow star in new poster for Iron Man 3

Battle approaches…

Iron Man 3 has released yet another new poster, in which Tony Stark clutches Pepper Potts close to him in the heat of battle.

As in much of the promotional material, Tony is looking rather the worse for wear, carrying the scars of battle while his trademark smirk is nowhere to be seen.

Meanwhile, he’s trying to protect Ms Potts at all costs. However, as we speculated yesterday, perhaps Pepper can look after herself…

The new film will pit Stark against the twin foes of sinister scientist Aldrich Killian and criminal mastermind The Mandarin… although judging by all those suits in the poster, at least he’ll have some backup this time around.

Directed by Shane Black and co-starring Robert Downey Jr., Gwyneth Paltrow, Guy Pearce and Ben Kingsley, Iron Man 3 opens in the UK on 25 April 2013.

It doesn't even look like Gwyneth. She's not that pretty in reality.

Marvel need to get the villains right - every film they have done reeks of studio interference so that directors and writers get stomped on by corporate a******ns obsessing about making money from c**p toys. The only villain they have done in ANY of their films that was a success was Doc Ock in Spiderman 2. Whiplash was good for half a film in Iron Man 2...so they quickly turned him into a CGI toy and removed any meaningful acting/dialogue (according to Mickey Rourke who seemed less than chuffed) . Maybe they will get it right this time but I fear they will bottle it again - Nolan's Batman stuff was great and the fact he got the villains right had a lot to do with it.
