Ready to finally meet the Little Fockers?

No Jay Roach but more Owen Wilson this time

BY Total Film Feb 19th 2009 6:06AMFILED UNDER: Movie news

Yes, it’s true: the threequel follow-up to Meet The Parents and Meet The Parents – Little Fockers - is heating back up again at Universal.

This, time, however, director Jay Roach won’t be helping with the birthing process as he’s busy getting ready to make Donner For Schmucks for DreamWorks.

What is known, however, is that Owen Wilson’s Kevin Rawley might well be getting a bigger chunk of the comedy pie this time around, with an expanded role.

John Hamburg, who wrote drafts of the first two movies, has been nabbed for scripting duties again since the studio seems determined to get this cash cow mooing in front of cameras by the autumn.

According to the Risky Business Blog, there’s a hunt going on right now for a director to take over the reigns for more madness, this time circling around the kids spawned by Ben Stiller and Teri Polo.

And yes, Robert De Niro’s back.

We’re frankly surprised they haven’t offered the job to Hamburg  - his latest, I Love You, Man, is getting great buzz at test screenings.

So long as the kids don't become the stars - kid movies are the worst. Proof? Look Who's Talking Now, Spy Kids, Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.

the 2nd one was definitely better than the first but I haven't been sitting around praying for a 3rd installment. Deniro and Stiller could definitely be doing bigger and better things but neither of them seem to realise that.

I'm sorry but personally.. I think it is a bad idea. Lots of people loved the second and liked the first but won't see a third.
